Who We Serve

We serve individuals experiencing homelessness, and those transitioning out of homelessness.

Sometimes students become housed, but are not thriving because they have no access to wellness and community. Our specialty might be serving individuals who are sleeping outside, but classes are also open to individuals in transitional housing.

No experience necessary — just show up!

I am a huge proponent of students practicing yoga on their own in the safest way possible. I’m really proud of these water-resistant keychain pamphlets with a simple yoga sequence to encourage students to practice outside of class. It was sweet of the students to be the models for the pamphlet.

Featured Student: Meet John

I don't typically roll my Mercy Church students upside down onto their heads. But after class, John was going for it on his own without any props or form. It gave me anxiety, so I guided him into this  safer version of Halasana. This pose is so soothing to the mind and feels great on the back.

John said his back felt great for days after that class and said it was very helpful to clear his sinuses. John resisted class for many months because his back was in so much constant pain from a prior accident. Once he started, he felt the benefits almost immediately, and he is now a regular. He even practices on his own outside of class — a dream come true for me.

  • I endured a physical back injury, almost fatal. I started yoga class with Ashley at Mercy Church and the continued participation has rendered my back with relaxation/motivation. Thankful for Ashley and the pastors at Mercy Church for the opportunities.
